Staff and pupils at Bradon Forest School in Purton are this week celebrating being awarded the Artsmark Gold Award for the third time in a row.

The award highlights the school’s dedication and commitment to the arts, and recognises the high standard of work produced by students.

Only 148 schools nationally have achieved the Gold Award three times in a row, and head of expressive arts, David Calder, said he was delighted.

“I am very happy we have received this award for the third time running,” he said.

“It is a clear indication to the students and staff at Bradon Forest School that their creative work is valued and appreciated.”

Alan Davey, chief executive for Arts Council England said: “Obtaining Artsmark Gold for the third time is an outstanding achievement and we congratulate you on your continuing success.”

Students at the school are currently rehearsing for their Summer Arts Festival production, Sweet Charity.

The show will be performed from July 6 to 9 at 7.30pm with a matinee on July 10 starting at midday. This final performance will be followed by a summer barbecue and Twenty20 cricket match.
