A motorist has appeared before a crown court judge charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Mark Weeks is accused of causing the death of a passenger when an Audi TT was in collision with a tree on Brimble Hill, Wroughton, earlier this year.
The 22-year-old is said to have been behind the wheel of the sports car when it went out of control and crashed on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 16.
As a result of the smash Philip Suddes, 28, of Alexandra Park, Wroughton, was killed.
Weeks, of Winterslow, near Salisbury, appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He spoke only to confirm his name during the brief hearing and no charges were put or pleas entered.
Judge John McNaught adjourned the case to Friday, October 31 when Weeks is due to enter his plea to the allegation.
The silver sports car was unrecognisable as a result of the smash on the road between Wroughton and Chiseldon.
It is thought that the driver lost control on the right hand bend on the brow of the hill, sending the car into the tree.
Emergency services at the scene said the passenger side took the brunt of the impact and Mr Suddes was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was also injured and was taken to the Great Western Hospital for treatment after being freed from the wreckage by the fire brigade.
