Gordon Ramsey launches website for restaurant lovers

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is launching a new website in Swindon.

Menusin- swindon.com allows local restaurants, pubs and takeaways to showcase their menus.

From the site's home page users can search for a specific dish, cuisine, or establishment by name and go on to browse entire menus according to their taste.

For users outside of Swindon, the site also lists restaurants in Devizes, Calne and Marlborough and other areas around Wiltshire.

When asked why he had backed an internet business focusing on Swindon Mr Ramsay replied, "Focusing on the restaurant industry, the menusinswindon.com concept is the first to offer searchable menus and showcase restaurants, pubs and takeaways.

"Importantly it targets a local audience, featuring relevant information specific to the Swindon area."

As for choosing Swindon to launch the business, Mr Ramsay continued; "we needed a town with a broad spectrum of restaurants and takeaways and people who enjoy eating out. We also looked for cultural and demographic diversity, Swindon ticks the boxes".

Mr. Ramsay also revealed that his future plans for menusin.com were, "A country wide roll-out. Once the Swindon launch is fully established this concept will be expanded to other towns and cites across the UK allowing us to serve not only residents but also encourage visitors to choose where they would like to dine".

The benefits are that the site enables subscribing proprietors full access to their on-line menu allowing them to instantly update changes, prices and include daily specials for example. In addition to this, they will have access to guides produced by Mr. Ramsay and his team, be able to learn, share and interact with each other and utilise a supplier directory. A host of other exciting features make the subscriber area' a must have resource.
