THE police investigation into the Broad Street firebomb attack has been praised.
Coun Derique Montaut (Lab, Central) has been attending the Gold Group meetings between the emergency services and community leaders.
He said: "This is a major step forward in seeing communities being engaged with resolving problems.
"Police are listening to the community and responding in a way which I think is really commendable."
Meetings have taken place since Saturday's arson attack on the home of Abdul Rahim.
It was the second time in less than three weeks that Mr Rahim's house had been firebombed.
The meetings have also been praised by Azim Khan of the Thamesdown Islamic Association.
He said: "We appreciate the way they have kept us informed."
A police spokesman said: "The inquiry will certainly continue, as it is at the moment, for some considerable time."
