The case of a Somali accused of stabbing a policeman and his dog has been heard by a judge at Swindon crown court.
Essa Suleiman did not attend the hearing as he was too ill to be brought from prison, where he is being held on remand.
During a brief hearing the case against the 26-year-old was adjourned to Friday April 4 when he is due to enter pleas.
Suleiman, of Boundary Lane, Camberwell, south London, is accused of grievous bodily harm, wounding with intent to cause GBH, actual bodily harm and criminal damage to the dog.
He was remanded in custody in his absence until the next hearing later in the year and no pleas have been entered to the allegations.
PC Neil Sampson and his dog Anya was injured after responding to a 999 call of a knife attack in Liden on Thursday January 3.
Fellow officer PC Michael Mansell was also injured during the incident at Briarswood Court.
Another Somali man, Ahmed Huriye, also suffered knife injuries during an incident at the premises.
