BURGLARS snuck into six homes in just three days to steal from under the noses of the sleeping occupants.
Swindon police's dedicated burglary unit is investigating a series of creeper burglaries that took place between Saturday and Monday.
Homes in Salisbury Street, Shrivenham Road and Edington Court were broken into between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Three more addresses in County Road, William Street and Ashford Road were ransacked on Monday night.
PC Matt Salmon, from the Swindon Crime Targeting Team said: "All of these burglaries took place overnight while the owners were asleep in their beds.
"We are pretty sure that they are all linked and although one man has been arrested we are still looking for two other men in connection with these burglaries.
"The items stolen included laptops, sat navs, mobile phones, digital cameras, probably to the value of £2,500. They are ainly small high value items that can be taken easily, then sold on for drugs."
PC Salmon urged people in Swindon to take care to keep the burglars out.
"In each case the burglars managed to get in because the windows or doors were not properly secured," he said.
One of the suspects is described as male 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, and medium to broad build, wearing a grey hoodie and black jeans.
Anyone with information can contact Swindon police on 0845 408 7000. If a burglary is taking place call 999.
