House blaze drama

Firefighters from Swindon and Stratton had to tackle a blaze at a house in Pinehurst last night.

The home, in Beech Avenue, was ravaged by flames on both floors and it took the crews more than an hour and a half to put the fire out.

The house was unoccupied and it is thought that no damage was done to neighbouring homes.

The crews received the emergency call at 7.28pm and had to use four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and two main jets to extinguish the fire.

It is not yet known how the fire started.
