A MOTORCYCLIST and a middle-aged man have been seriously injured in a road accident in Old Town.
The smash happened just after 8.30pm at the junction of Victoria Road and Bath Road.
Eyewitnesses say both men were bleeding profusely after the 125cc motorcycle, which had a learner sticker fixed to the front, was in collision with a pedestrian.
Both men were taken to Swindon's Great Western Hospital.
An officer on Bath Road said both parties had sustained serious injuries.
Specialists were gathering evidence from the taped-off scene late last night.
Dan Martin, 19, saw the motorcyclist go past.
"After the crash the bike smashed into the wall - throwing the rider over his handlebars.
"I tried to look after the man in the road.
"The man had smashed up teeth with blood spurting out of his mouth, and he was unconscious."
Jay Clack, 18, said: "He was breathing, but he was having a lot of trouble doing it."
