A MAN was held at knife-point as robbers stole his luxury television.
The 36-year-old, who lives on his own in Freshbrook, suffered the terrifying robbery on Sunday night.
Three men barged their way into his property through the front door at 10.20pm and told him to lie on the floor.
Then they made their getaway with his widescreen 50-inch plasma television.
The victim did not receive any injuries but was visibly shaken by his ordeal.
Detective Constable Matt Lewis of Swindon CID said: "A number of men used force and threatened the victim.
"The victim was forced to lie face down while they stole his TV.
"Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the males carrying a large plasma TV or anyone who may have had this TV offered for sale.
"It is believed the males have the box for the TV."
A 34-year-old pregnant mother, who did not want to be identified, said she thought the incident was horrifying.
"I can't believe it happened," she said.
"I knew something was up when I heard the police helicopter hovering overhead for about half an hour."
A 33-year-old neighbour, living close to where the incident took place, said: "The first thing I knew about it was when the police came and knocked on my door at 11.15pm.
"My house was broken into in November. They got in through the kitchen window and stole my Xbox and a load of DVDs.
"Freshbrook is normally a quiet place, although I suppose these things happen."
