Police have recovered a black Range Rover they believe is connected to the murder of Dawn Williams from a lake in South Cerney.
Underwater recovery teams pulled the car from the lake, to the north of Swindon, this afternoon.
Although the victim has yet to be formally identified, neighbours have named her as the 44-year-old from Fosse Close, Swindon.
Her body was found at her home last night.
A 43-year-old man is helping police with their inquiries.
Detective Inspector Shaun Memory of the Major Investigation Team, said: "We are maintaining an open mind, but early indications are that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation."
Police are appealling to anyone who may have seen or heard anything between the hours of 4pm and 8pm on Thursday, November 8, in the area of Fosse Close to contact the Major Investigations Team on 0845 408 7000.
