A MOTORCYCLIST in his 60s died in a collision with a car between Swindon and Marlborough this morning.

The crash happened at about 11am on the A346 near Ogbourne St George.

Emergency services were then on the scene with the road closed for hours afterwards as investigations took place.

The rider was heading south on his Triumph motorbike when he is believed to have fallen into the path of a Hyundai I10, which was travelling north.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

PC Stephen Hughes, of the Policing Unit, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision itself who has not already spoken to police, as well as anyone who may have seen either the Hyundai or the motorcyclist prior to the collision.

“Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“Our thoughts remain with the family of the motorcyclist at this very sad time.”
