THE woman who died in a crash at Foxhill, near Baydon, has been named as Mackala Diane Fairchild.

The 48-year-old, of Lambourn, Berkshire, was the front passenger of one of the cars which crashed on Friday, February 12 at around 1.20pm near the turning to Loxley Park.

The grandmother was known to family members as Kay.

A police spokesman said the driver of the vehicle, who was flown to Southampton Hospital and is believed to be her husband, is still in hospital in a stable condition.

The two rear passengers, which included a child, have been released from hospital and the driver of the other car received minor injuries.

In an emotion plea a family member posted anonymously online: “Please be safe on the roads – for yourself and others.

“This accident took away someone special from my family and we are all trying to cope the best we can.

“Drivers please be considerate to others drivers and keep our roads safe. Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts.”

A fundraising page has also been set up by Channiece Okeeffe for Mrs Fairchild’s family. It has so far received £715 and a target of £2,000 has been set.

Tributes left on the page include one from Jenny Howe. She said: “The angels have you now aunty Kay all of us miss you more than words can say. Jen and kids xxx”

Ann Little posted: “It saddens us to hear the tragic loss of a young girl. Kay a wife, mother, and nanny. Taken so tragically from us. Our thoughts are with the Family. God bless you all.”

Roni McKeown added: “Thinking of you all at a time when words fail.”
