THAMES Water helped out some thirsty dairy cows during the water main burst today, donating 9,000 litres of water to a Braydon farm.

Edward Rawlings, 23, from Park Farm said Thames Water responded quickly to his urgent request.

He said: “We ran out of water first thing this morning and the cows troughs were getting very dry and they were looking for it by the afternoon.

"Thames Water drove up with a lorry and gave us 9,000 litres of water which will see us through until tomorrow.

“The cows went straight for it when we filled their troughs up and we can get on with the milking this afternoon now.

"It was really great of them to come out and help us.”
