8:06am Friday 23rd March 2007 in Swindon By Raeanne Nightingale
A woman was pushed to the ground and kicked repeatedly as a robber tried to steal her brand new Playstation 3.
The attacked happened in Whitbourne Avenue, Swindon shortly after midnight in the early hours of this morning.
The victim had just returned home from Toys R Us in Swindon, where she had taken advantage of special midnight opening hours to launch the coveted new games console.
She parked her car and was removing the computer she had just bought from the back seat when a car pulled up alongside her and a man got out.
He grabbed the woman and tried to wrestle the bag from her before pushing her to the ground and kicking her several times.
The victim however managed to keep hold of her purchase and the man got back in the car and sped off towards Shaftesbury Avenue.
Police have since carried out checks on the car park at Toys R Us and saw a car leaving at speed. They stopped the car shortly after and two men inside were then arrested in connection with the attempted robbery.
Anyone with any other information about this incident should call Swindon CID on 0845 408 7000.
