A ten-screen cinema will be erected in the middle of Swindon as part of the town centre rebuilding.
Modus, which has been appointed to carry out the £200m Granville Street redesign, has announced it has signed a deal to bring a 2,000-seat multiplex to Swindon.
It will be part of a scheme that sees shops, flats and a hotel introduced also.
The cinema will be run by The Light Cinema.
Director Keith Pullinger said: "Our focus is to provide cinemas in well chosen, town centre developments with a complimentary mix of leisure and retail.
"We are convinced that the Modus development proposals for Regent Place meet with these criteria."
Work will start in the summer next year and should be finished in the winter of 2010.
