Two men are to stand trial accused of kidnapping a man over a debt and putting the frighteners on him.'
Tony Broadley, 48, of Turnpike Road, Blunsdon, and Paul Murray, 42, of Thorney Park, near Wroughton, have pleaded not guilty at Gloucester Crown Court to kidnapping David Spiller on November 26 last
year.
They also denied a charge of blackmailing him between December 31, 2004 and December 1, 2005, by demanding £200 with menaces from him.
And the pair each denied a charge of being in possession of an imitation firearm - a starting pistol - on December 2 last year.
Murray also denied being in possession of an air rifle on November 26.
Judge Martin Picton said: "The case is that the frighteners were put on to recover a debt."
Both men were granted bail to return to court for trial on May 21.
