Alleged death threats made against Town winger Aaron Brown have been condemned by supporters' group Trust STFC.
As revealed in yesterday's Advertiser, a number of malicious phone calls were made to the club regarding the 26-year-old player.
The calls were made to the club on Monday and chief executive Martyn Sarnes contacted the police immediately.
The midfielder, pictured left, was forced to apologise after gesturing to a section of Robins supporters at the Barnet game last week, which Town lost.
But a spokesman for TrustSTFC called on fans to continue to back the club's promotion push.
"We deplore and condemn threats of this nature, whether they are real or just mischievous, and do so unreservedly," said the spokesman.
"We must now let the police carry out their investigations into the matter, and ask all fans to focus and concentrate on backing Paul Sturrock and his team in the hope that they can secure the promotion that all Town fans want to see achieved this season."
As previously reported, PC James Neighbour, Swindon police's football liaison officer, pictured right, said that the matter was being looked into it and was being taken seriously.
Anyone with information about the threats should call Swindon police on 0845 408 7000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555111.
