A woman is in danger while a violent man remains at large, police have revealed.
Officers believe Lucas Lamb, known as Luke, may be lying low in Penhill and have warned he could be violent if anyone tries to approach him.
The 23-year-old is wanted in connection with domestic violence and criminal damage offences.
He may also be connected to a burglary.
Insp Paul Hawkins, of Swindon police, said: "With the domestic assault the victim alleges to have been punched and kicked in the head.
"From a police point of view it is imperative that we trace this man in order to prevent further offences against the victim and to safeguard her welfare.
"We need to bring Mr Lamb to justice and it's very much a case of preventing further offences against her.
"Obviously, every day that goes by and he is still about she does not know if he is going to come back and cause her problems so she must be slightly anxious."
Despite an appeal 12 days ago police have been unable to track him down.
But they have promised they will not stop looking and they are appealing for the public to help.
"These matters need to be dealt with and finalised and therefore Mr Lamb will be sought at every opportunity until he is brought to justice," Insp Hawkins said.
"Police attempts to locate Mr Lamb won't be finalised until he is brought to justice so it is in his best interests to hand himself in to the nearest police station."
The offences Lamb is wanted for are said to have occurred in December and January.
Insp Hawkins said: "We believe that he is still in Swindon and that people will know where he is and we urge them to come forward.
"He is not a danger to the general public but obviously, if he is aware that he is wanted, if someone tried to detain him he might try to assault them.
"Anyone who sees him should not approach him but contact us immediately on 999."
Lamb has been known to stay in the town centre and in Penhill and he is also said to have connections with friends in West Sussex.
Police say anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact them immediately on 0845 408 7000.
Anyone who sees him should not approach him but call 999.
