Pounding hearts were kept in check during Valentine's Day yesterday as free blood pressure checks were being offered to shoppers.
Passers-by at the Greenbridge Retail and Leisure Park in Swindon were given the once over by a trained first aider from Cannons Health Club, outside the Boots pharmacy .
Information leaflets from the Blood Pressure Association were also being handed out as well as some heart-shaped lollipops.
Sue Massey, spokesman for the Blood Pressure Association, said: "Valentine's Day was the perfect day for looking at the health of your heart and we were delighted that customers at Greenbridge took the opportunity to get their blood pressure checked.
"Although most people don't know it, there's a one-in-three chance that they have high blood pressure, which could lead to heart disease and strokes."
