MP Anne Snelgrove says she has been promised £50,000 of government cash to put up a fence around Ridegway School, Wroughton, where pupil Henry was attacked with a hammer.
Thje Swindon South MP raised concerns about security following the attack and asked for help to secure a perimeter fence as soon as possible.
The Department for Education said it was making the award in recognition of the seriousness of the incident.
The money comes in addition to £125,000 which is being contributed locally.
Ms Snelgrove said: "I am very pleased that following my meetings with the Education Minister the government is putting up the money to improve security at the school."
