MUSIC lovers have been treated to the newest release by Pewsey-based musicians Urban Lions, who are set to perform at the weekend.
Described as the ‘hardest working band on the scene’, the group formed three years ago and have recently been signed to Lionheart record company, created by the group’s member Phil Brady. Mr Brady said: “I’ve been into music since I was a small child. I had a guitar from the age of five and my older sister used to pass her old Two Tone records down to me and I’ve been into good music ever since.”
Urban Lions have played all over the country and recorded past EPs in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Their latest single See Me Rise was released in April and features the sounds of reggae and ska. The ten-piece began after performing as a backing group to reggae star Donette Forte and have since penned tunes that have been picked up by 150 online music stores.
They are due to perform in North Newnton at Hopdog Ale festival at the Woodbridge Inn this weekend. (May 5/6)
