PUGS and their owner were looked after by the British Red Cross last night after a house fire in Pewsey.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was caused by a light in a fish tank at the home on Swan Meadow.

The occupant was out at the time of the fire and came back to discover their home covered in soot and 100 per cent smoke damage.

The British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service joined the scene and provided assistance to the home owner and their pets while Pewsey fire crews assessed the damage.

The fire took place yesterday around 6pm.

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service spokesman said: "One crew from Pewsey were called to a property in Pewsey where the occupant had returned to find their property full of soot. The fire was out but had been caused by a fish tank and there was 100% smoke damage to the property."
