FINAL touches are being made to the flamboyant costumes and intricate scenery ahead of opening night of the Pewsey Vale Amateur Dramatic Society’s pantomime extravaganza.
The village tradition dates back to 1971, and this year the cast will be performing Mother Goose, a vibrant panto set to get children and adults dancing on their feet.
Andy Vowles, producer said: “The strength really comes from the depth of our heritage. The panto has been around for decades and that means that there is always someone who has done it before and who can help out. Our longest serving member is probably Tiggy Holmes, she is the wardrobe mistress and has been with us for over 40 years.”
“It’s a traditional family show suitable for kids of all ages. It is a really high quality and at the end of the night you only have to walk home afterwards."
The show opens on Saturday afternoon in Bouverie Hall with performances on January 13, 14, 19 and 20.
