SCHOOLCHILDREN from the Marlborough and Pewsey area did their bit for the Red Nose Day cause by raising hundreds of pounds for Comic Relief on Friday.
Marlborough's Baydon St Nicholas School raised £155 from their dress funny for money day, where the pupils were challenged to dress in an amusing manner.
Admin officer Shireen Waterer said: "For a little school like ours we are pretty chuffed that we have raised this much. We had some great costumes on show and it is nice that the children understand the importance of days like these as it helps a lot of children that are not as lucky as most."
The Juniors and Infants School at Marlborough St Mary's raised a combined £500 from Red Nose Day, which included the Infants putting on a fairy cake sale and the rest buying red noses.
Great Bedwyn Primary School also got in on the fundraising action by raising £118 from their non-uniform day, as did Preshute Primary School who raised £220 and Pewsey Primary School who exceeded the £100 fundraising mark.
