THE curtain will be drawn back in just a few days time for the eagerly awaiting production of Cinderella courtesy of the popular Pewsey Vale Amateur Dramatic Society.

For more than 80 years the society have been performing at Pewsey's Bouverie Hall, North Street, and on Friday at 7.30pm and twice on Saturday, 2.30pm and 7.30pm, that will be the case again.

Ever since the script was finalised in June, the preparations have been underway for the traditional musical and the 30-strong cast are chomping at the bit to finally strut their stuff and perform in front to a live audience.

"They are absolutely raring to go and are bursting with excitement - it promises to be a cracker," said director and ugly sister Steve Clements.

"This is our showpiece event of the year and we do not want to disappoint. Everyone is singing from the same songbook, working really hard and well together and we just want to get started now.

"The entire crew, not just the staff, have been beavering away at this for quite some time and we are determined to put on a good show."

The show will feature the society’s own original take on the play, with some slapstick routines and audience participation.

"It is just such a good traditional panto play and really gets some good audience participation. We love performing to our loyal crowds and we hope they will not be disappointed," he said.

After the first three shows this Friday and Saturday, the cast will return a week later on January 20 at 7.30pm and then the day after at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £9 for adults and £6 for children and are available from www.pvads.co.uk or by calling 01672 810436.
