CAMPAIGNERS from Stop the War on Dads, and New Fathers 4 Justice staged a Mother’s day protest outside the Wiltshire home of Sir James Munby, president of the Family Division of the High Court of England and Wales.

The protesters including one in a Honey Monster costume near Pewsey to take their fight to the door of Sir James.

The activists, who have no associated with Fathers4Justice UK, wanted to confront the judge but instead were confronted by his daughter and were unable to scale his roof.

The protesters claim that Sir James then called for an armed response unit fearing for his safety.

The group included James Dennis from Bishops Cleeve, Les Culshaw from Preston, Anna Jane Davis from Lancaster Michaila Harris from Preston, Daren lock from Bromsgrove and others.

A spokesman said: "No parent who is fit and willing should ever be denied their right to share equally in the lives of their own children."

Sir James was quoted In 2004 as saying that the legal system was failing fathers and that he felt ashamed after dealing with a man who had fought unsuccessfully for five years to see his daughter, but the has done nothing.

The protesters also claim that he also argued that mothers who repeatedly defied court rulings on access should be jailed but he has done nothing.

A spokesman said: "He promised transparency but all we get is 'smoke and mirrors' changes rather than a modern accountable family court system.

"When children become adults and ask why these decisions were made on their behalf by the secret family courts system they still get no answers.

"Munby is nothing more than a hypocrite who rides on the Family Law gravy train that operates behind the closed doors of the secret family courts.

"Nothing less than a legal presumption of 50/50 contact for a child with their parents if they split up, and the abolition of the deeply controversial, undemocratic secret court system that still exists within the 'family' division despite forty years of inequality and protest will do.

"We have a secretive legal system that is utterly out of touch with the way we live now in a world where mother work and dads change nappies, push buggies and spend hours cuddling their children in exactly the same way that good mothers do.

"We must speak out about the injustice within the family courts and the oppressive, bias, profiteering, suffocating legal system. Together we must unite to challenge the Government’s policies to create the momentum necessary to bring about meaningful change."
