POLICE have received more reports of bogus water board employees knocking on people’s doors in the Pewsey area.

The latest happened incident happened last week on Friday, November 6, when two men knocked on a woman’s door in Alton Barnes at 6.30pm, claiming to be from the water board.

They told the woman there was a leak in her house and they needed to get inside.

She refused to let them in and they then made attempts to get past her but were not successful and left.

Sgt Clare Wallace of Marlborough Neighbourhood Policing team said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this incident.

“Please report any suspicious behaviour in your area and keep a close eye on elderly neighbours.

“Any official visitor to your property should show identification and if you are not comfortable with who they are, do not allow them into your home and contact police on 101.”
