POLICE are appealing for information after a bogus water board worker conned his way into the home of an elderly woman in Honey Street near Pewsey.
The told the woman there was something wrong with her water supply at 7pm on Thursday. He went nto her home and and told the woman to run the water.
After he had left the pensioner realised items had been disturbed in another room and believes an accomplice had entered the house to search for items. However, nothing was taken.
The man is described as white, around 5ft 10, of slim build, aged in his 20s or 30s and with no distinguishing marks or accent.
PC Karen Haddrell has urged people to be wary about unannounced visitors and to always ask for identification, perhaps using a door chain.
