THE Pewsey Belles choir laced up to show their support for the National Osteoporosis Society.

The Pewsey choir held their weekly choir practice on Tuesday but with a slight difference. To tie in with the #laceupforbones day, which was launched to coincide with World Osteoporosis Day on 20th October to raise awareness of the bone condition, the Belles donned the official orange laces to show their support.

Jules Addison the choirmaster, 40, of Corsham, said: “Last night was our regular weekly choir practice and it just happened to fall on the official day for #laceupforbones which was an even greater incentive to take part. The Pewsey Belles is a an all Female Choir, set up in 2011 to bring together ladies from Pewsey, and the surrounding areas, to sing together and have fun. The choir has always supported local and national charities and see this as a way of giving something back to the community.

“We showed our support for NOS and the #laceupforbones campaign by everyone wearing orange laces to the weekly choir rehearsal which takes place in the Methodist Church Hall in Goddard Road, Pewsey. The ladies always embrace any challenge with a great sense of fun and community spirit. Being photographed in Orange Laces to support NOS last night was a great way of starting our rehearsal, as well as helping to raise awareness of this campaign.”

The Pewsey Bells will be performing at the Corn Exchange, Devizes, on Saturday October 24, with Grenville Jones and his Good Afternoon Choir. Following that they will be singing as part of the Pewsey Gala Carnival Concert in Bouverie Hall, Pewsey, on Saturday October 31.
