DEVIZES MP Claire Perry is recruiting an apprentice to work in her constituency office in the town
The successful applicant, to be paid £109 a week, will undertake an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship, combining working in the busy office with a business and administration training programme run in conjunction with Wiltshire College.
A job description posted on www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk says the apprentice will:
• Respond to enquiries from constituents by email, phone and letter
• Undertake research using the internet and other resources
• Attend advice surgeries and take minutes of meetings
• Draft letters and other correspondence
• Liaise with local and national organisations to progress constituent casework.
The appointment will last for a year to 18 months at a pay rate of £109.20 a week.
Ms Perry said “During the last Parliament we saw the biggest ever increase in apprentice numbers with over two million people starting an apprenticeship, including more than 9,000 people locally, and the new Government plans to go further and deliver three million apprenticeships by 2020.
"I’m really keen to do my bit by offering an apprenticeship based in my Devizes constituency office – it is a fantastic opportunity for a young person who is interested in government and politics and who has strong communication skills.
"I am very much looking forward to an apprentice joining my local team.”
