GODOT’S bar and brasserie is swinging into action to raise funds for the Prospect Hospice Appeal through a 1930s cocktails and canapés evening.
The event on November 28 will also feature an auction with prizes including a day’s shooting lessons worth £200 and dinner for two at Godots in Kingsbury Street worth £60.
Owner Lesley Powell said: “There were two reasons I wanted to help the appeal. The first was that my father died recently in London and was looked after by hospice nurses and the other is that I’m from Marlborough – I was born in Savernake – so I think it’s a really good cause.
“I’ve been along the High Street and all of the shops are going to donate prizes for the auction and we’ve already sold a lot of tickets so it should be a really good evening.”
Prospect Hospice fundraiser Susie Fisher has helped to organise the festivities which start at 7pm. 1930s fancy dress is optional.
Tickets cost £20, including a cocktail and canapés, and are available by calling 01672 514776.
