From bingo nights to duck races Pewsey Prospect Hospice support group has organised an array of events to support the charity and now the team is thinking up ways to support its Savernake Appeal.

The support group was set up in January 2013 off the back of an informal information evening at the Bouverie Hall and it has raised around £2,000 since then.

Group member Carol Parsons said: “There are about eight to ten of us of all ages and all walks of life.

“Some of the people involved have experience with the hospice, a couple of the people are volunteers in the shop, others used to be volunteers and some people have no connection to Prospect, they just want to help.

“It’s been very well supported, we’ve been really pleased with it.”

The group haven’t had a chance to have a full meeting to discuss fundraising ideas for the Savernake Appeal since it launched three weeks ago but will be doing so soon.

Mrs Parsons said: “I think it will be absolutely wonderful for us to have something closer to the village.”
