Judo Paralympic medallist Ian Rose has launched an Olympic-inspired programme, Be The Best You Can Be, on a visit to Woodborough School.

The programme, set up after the 2012 London games and run by the charity 21st Century Legacy, aims to inspire, engage and empower youngsters to reach their full potential.

Headteacher Sarah Brewis said: “Ian kick-started our Be the Best You Can Be programme with an energetic assembly that enthralled pupils and staff alike; explaining, by the means of his own examples, that success is a journey with the need to overcome inevitable setbacks.

“We hope pupils will raise self-confidence and benefit from higher aspirations and a clearer path to how they can realise their dreams.”
