An 86-year-old man was knocked to the ground and had his wallet stolen during a robbery near the Bouverie Hall near Pewsey.

It happened at around 9.20am on Monday, July 28, when the man was walking along a pathway that runs adjacent to the Bouverie Hall.

He had stopped to read his newspaper, when his wallet was stolen from his back pocket and he was knocked over causing injuries to his finger and knee.

The female offender is described as white, around 5ft 1ins tall, of average build with long, dark hair. She was wearing a brown and white top. After the incident she made off on a pushbike towards the village centre.

Wiltshire Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a woman matching the description on a pushbike.
