The funeral of Marlborough town clerk Derek Wolfe will be held on October 12 in his home town of Axminster in Devon.
Mr Wolfe, 58, was taken ill on Monday as he arrived at his rented property in Kennet Mews, Marlborough, after completing his weekly commute from Axminster.
He called an ambulance himself when he experienced severe pains and was taken to Swindon’s Great Western Hospital, where he died later that day. A post mortem examination revealed he suffered a ruptured aortic aneurysm.
His funeral on Friday October 12, is at noon at the Methodist Church in Lyme Road, Axminster, followed by cremation.
His wife, Lynette, has asked for donations to Barnardo’s care of funeral directors JF Clarke and Son, Maryknoll, Lyme Street, Axminster EX13 5AU.
In an e-mail to friends Mrs Wolfe said: “As you can imagine this has come as a huge shock to the whole family and we are totally devastated.
“Derek was my life and I don’t know how I am going to come to terms with this tragedy.”
Mr Wolfe leaves his wife, two step children and three grandchildren.
