Visitors to a Gardeners’ Question Time-style event in Marlborough got top tips while raising much needed cash for the Home-Start Kennet charity.

Well-known Marlbor-ough gardeners Bruce Porter, Maureen Ponting and Jeffrey Galvin Wright provided advice and more than £400 was raised through questions to the panel, a raffle, plant and sale table.

Bruce is a champion vegetable grower while Maureen is a botanist and tour guide, and Jeffrey created the acclaimed garden at Marlborough’s Merchant’s House.

Home-Start Kennet, which recruits and trains volunteers to support parents with young children in their own homes, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, gets no support from Wiltshire Council and depends on support from the community to continue its service to local families.
