Children and parents at Preshute Primary School, Manton, near Marlborough, had a right royal time of it last Friday when they celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a special tea party.

The event took place, appropriately enough, on the Jubilee Field in the village, and the theme was red, white and blue. In the fancy dress parade, children dressed up in patriotic colours and some appeared as kings and queens.

The party was put on by the Preshute Parents and Staff Association (PPSA).

Head teacher Celia Hicks said: “It was an astonishing day, not just because of the weather, but the way the PPSA had organised it. It was a lovely event where people could relax and have a good time.”
