Appeal for return of pictures lost at Avebury

American tourists Stephen and Rosemary Cohen are appealing for the return of two cameras stolen from the boot of their car in the main car park at Avebury between 4-7pm on Friday.

They visited the village with Mr Cohen’s mother Leah, the arts critic and writer well known in Wiltshire, last week after spending time touring Paris and other landmarks in England.

The mother said: “My son is gutted because although he can replace the two expensive cameras he cannot replace the photographs they had taken during their visit to Europe.”

She is appealing to the thieves to return the camera chips by posting them to Marlborough police station so that their photographs can be retrieved.

I suppose the National Trust security guards were too busy sucking money out of the punters pockets to notice a break-in, in broad daylight...
