Savernake singing sensation Bo Bruce is through to the live rounds of the BBC talent show The Voice.

Bo, whose full name is Lady Catherine Brudenell-Bruce, has been wowing viewers on the Saturday night show.

Although brought up in Savernake Forest, Bo, 27, now lives in London and, like her brother Viscount Savernake, Tom Brudenell-Bruce, is estranged from their father, the Earl of Cardigan.

Tom was in the group of family and friends backstage willing her on in last Saturday’s TV contest, but her father, who told national newspaper reporters that he wanted a reconciliation, was not in the group.

Neither was their mother Rosamond, divorced from Lord Cardigan, who is fighting cancer.

Bo now goes through to the live rounds of the show, this Saturday at 7pm on BBC One, the first time viewers vote on who stays in the competition.

This week, on her website she responded to some of the national newspaper stories about her rift with her father and his attempts to patch things up.

She wrote: “Although I was born into a privileged society, that spoon in my mouth was pretty rusty and not very silver; I don’t live in Downton Abbey, this is the 21st century.

“I work in a pub and struggle to pay my electricity bills like everyone else.

“I haven’t seen my father in years – unfortunately that’s not unusual in this day and age.”

The final 20 acts in The Voice are mentored by coaches Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J, will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue.

Last Saturday, Bo was chosen by her coach, O’Donoghue, in a head-to-head with Vince Free-man in the show’s Battle round.

As Bo was introduced, O’Donoghue told her: “I came on this show to find a unique voice. We have that voice.”

After her performance, will.i.am said: “It was like watching a Grammy performance.”
