The three special screenings of the Oscar-tipped film The King’s A Speech have raised hundreds of pounds for two good causes.
They were arranged by former BAFTA chairman Richard Price, a long time resident of Albourne who was involved in the early development of the film and its production.
Introducing the screenings, held on Friday and Saturday, Mr Price explained the background behind the film and talked about its stars.
Two of the screenings raised £900 for the Aldbourne Band, of which Mr Price is a trustee, and the other screening at the Ramsbury Roxy has helped the Neighbourhood First Responder team hit is target to provide four defibrillators in locations around the village.
