SEE your home from the skies as part of a competition to win a ride in a 1930s mono-plane.

The Church Warden for St Mary’s church in Chilton Foliat is offering up a once in a lifetime opportunity to climb aboard and fly over the Wiltshire countryside for a good cause.

Tim Williams is a self confessed aviation enthusiast and has owned the 1930 de Havilland Puss Moth aeroplane for 35 years.

During this time he discovered the stories of the previous owners, from belly dancers to American heiresses and even had a few adventures of his own.

He is now sharing the stories in a charity talk to raise funds for St Nicholas’ Church, Baydon.

Mr Williams, 76, said: “I have been interested in planes since I was a boy so it has been a lifelong passion.

“When I got the plane my wife said it was on the condition that we could fit me, her, our then young baby, a picnic and the dog in too.

“I have also flown to Australia in it. It took about three months and we flew for a day, then did some exploring and then continued on.”

The talk is being held on April 11 at 7.30pm, at Marlborough Town Hall, with each ticket gaining entry into the prize draw for the plane ride. Tickets are available from http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/baydon-lcc
