THE MARLBOROUGH Players are back once again for a performance that is set to thrill and entertain audiences in the town hall.

Bazaar and Rummage, written by Sue Townsend, author of the Adrian Mole series, is a witty and at times controversial comedy set in the 1970’s.

The show, with moments of bad language and challenging themes, follows the lives of three agoraphobic women too scared to leave their homes.

The show also marks a first for committee member Barry Mercer who has swapped treading the boards for the director’s chair as he takes the reins of the show.

Mr Mercer said: “It has very much been a team effort. We have great backstage crew and the actresses are excellent. They had really helped guide me throughout this new experience of directing.

"We are always looking for new members, whether they would like to be on stage or part of our great technical and backstage crew."

The cast, made up of ladies from Malborough, Swindon, Wroughton and Froxfield have been rehearsing since September for the three night show.

With barely a chance to catch their breath, the Marlborough Players will then begin rehearsing for their next show My Boy Jack by David Haig.

‘Bazaar and Rummage’ will play at Marlborough Town Hall from November 16 to 18.

Performances start at 7:30pm and tickets can be bought for £10 from the White Horse Bookshop or online at www.wegottickets.com/MarlboroughPlayers.
