A pedestrian pathway has been laid between the Herd Street end of Silverless Street and the crossing on The Green.
The town council carried out the plans after the area was found that the old pathway became a danger area during wet weather and got contractors in to make the improvements.
Contractors replaced the loose gravel footpath with a new surface that is designed to provide better grip.
The pathway has been laid to ensure that children’s buggies and mobility scooters can cross The Green safely.
