Teenagers pulled on their wellies and galoshes as the waded into the water of Stonebridge Wild River Reserve during a volunteers day.
The brave youngsters carried out a range of activities connected to the restoration of the island at at the Reserve in Marlborough as part of the ARK Stonebridge Get Involved Project.
Action for the River Kennet encouraged the young adults to bring friends at the event where experts showed them the importance of restoration and conservation efforts over the two days on August 12 and 18.
Funded by The Local Youth Network, a series of events have been running throughout the year and were continuing to take place this afternoon.
Project officer Anna Forbes said: "Everyone did a brilliant job, these sessions are about young people getting outdoors, trying something new, meeting new people and learning new skills. The feedback forms has been very positive, I'm so pleased they have enjoyed themselves."
