Working farmhouse and family run Manor Farm B&B has been shortlisted for a national award in hospitality.

Independent B&B owners Jackie and James Macbeth have been recognised for their superior hotelier services and are now in the running to win the outstanding host award at the Eviivo awards.

Five generations of the family have worked at Manor Farm, in Collingbourne Kingston, since 1885 and began their bed and breakfast service 30 years ago.

Mr Macbeth said: “We work so hard to give our guests a fantastic and unique experience. We are absolutely delighted to have that recognised through this shortlisting and just hope we are successful on the night.”

With their 19 year old son now working for the business, Manor Farm looks set to continue being run by the 6th generation of the family.

The 300 year old Grade II listed farmhouse provides three bedrooms where visitors can stay and explore the arable farm.

Commenting, Paul Saxby, events director at Eviivo said: “The quality of the entrants to the Eviivo Awards this year was once again extremely high. As a working farmhouse and family home for 6 generations, guests at Manor Farm B&B are very much staying at a home away from home.

"With the owners here extending a genuine, heartfelt and sincere welcome, as well as friendship, with this perhaps the ultimate level of service of all.”

The winner of the award will be announced on October 17 during a ceremony at the Café Du Paris in London.
