A B&B in Collingbourne Kingston has been shortlisted for a national award that celebrates the best independent hosts and hoteliers from across the UK.

Manor Farm B&B, run by Jackie and James Macbeth, has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Host category in the eviivo awards for independent hosts and hoteliers.

Mr Macbeth said he was delighted that the three-room B&B in the family's Grade-II listed period farmhouse had made the shortlist.

“At Manor Farm B&B we work so hard to give our guests a fantastic and unique experience. We just hope we are successful on the night,” he said.

Six generations of the family have lived and worked at Manor Farm since 1885 and there has been a B&B at the property for the past 30 years.

Paul Saxby, events director at eviivo, said: “As a working farmhouse and family home for six generations, guests at Manor Farm B&B are very much staying at a home away from home.

"With the owners here extending a genuine, heartfelt and sincere welcome, as well as friendship, with this perhaps the ultimate level of service of all.”

“eviivo are proud to be working with many of the finest businesses in Britain’s vibrant hospitality sector. These are often small, family-run businesses that play a significant role in driving tourism and jobs to their local community."

Judging will take place over the coming months with the winners announced at an awards evening on October 17 at the Café Du Paris in London.
