FOR the first time in more than 40 years Marlborough College's cricketing first team will renew their rivalry with Rugby School at Lord's this August.
The two teams will do battle at the famous London cricket ground as part of the Warwickshire school's 450th anniversary celebrations.
The fixture was first played at Lord's, known as the home of cricket, in 1855 but when limited-over cricket was introduced to the counties in the 1960s and 1970s all school matches stopped taking place there, bar Eton against Harrow.
More information on this will be available in the summer term on the college's website on http://www.marlboroughcollege.org/contact/
