CHILDREN were given free rein to dress up in Tudor or Georgian costumes and explore the historic Avebury Manor over the half term-period this week.
Across the whole week, children were treated to arts and crafts, a special trail and a chance to get a real feel of the manor, High Street, which dates back to nearly 1,000 years.
"Throughout the whole week the children have loved exploring the manor, trying on the Tudor or Georgian costumes and wigs, touching the display and much more - it has been great," said National Trust marketing and communications officer Abby George.
"They have learnt about the manor, with its various rooms reflecting the lives of people from across the centuries, and also just had a great time on a gloomy day. This is something tangible that brings learning alive in a wonderful setting."
People interested in going can still go along to the manor on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4pm. Entry is free and for more information call 01672 538016.
