EX-RAF officer Bryony Fuller has just completed the two and a half mile skydive to raise money for the Royal Air Force Association.

Mrs Fuller, 65, of West Overton, decided to take part in the jump on Tuesday (August 30), aiming to raise a target of £500 for the association. Already surpassing that at a total of £800 on her online giving page, Mrs Fuller has said that it was an amazing experience.

“I got my son down from London and I went with Charlotte Oliver to Peterborough on Monday so we could be at the airfield early in the morning. We ended up having to jump from Sibson air field in Brackley. I can’t explain how it was, you must try it. I had the best skydiver in the Falcons strapped on to me and we went up two-and-a-half miles in the air. I am still on cloud nine,” said Mrs Fuller.

After pulling the cord, Mrs Fuller’s tandem partner asked if she wanted to steer the parachute for their descent.

“You fall for the first mile at 120 miles per hour then he tapped me on the shoulder to say he was pulling the cord. It took ten minutes to land after deploying the parachute then you just slowly go down. He asked me if I fancied a go at steering it but I decided to leave it to the professional,” she said.

Mrs Fuller’s son George joined Mrs Oliver to watch his mum take the plummet, little did he know he would be joining her in the sky.

“When my son came with me they asked if he was mine and said that as he is a RAF family member that he could do it with me. They asked us if we both wanted to wing walk next year, I thought with what I have been through over the past eight years so I am up for wing walking,” added Mrs Fuller.
