IN the nooks and crannies of the Avebury Manor garden there are now 101 exciting works of art to be found. Turn a corner and see a stylised head in stone, stroll down Lion Walk and encounter ceramics nestled in the borders.
On Friday, some of the 21 artists celebrated the official launch of the exhibition. Simon Brooks, head gardener said: “The sculptures look fantastic and showcase the garden at its very best, acting as focal points as people wander through. Visitors have already been raving about them even before we’ve finished putting them all out.”
Hazel Barry-Scott, events officer at Avebury, said: “They are all unique but they complement each other extremely well and, best of all, if anyone falls in love with an artwork, they are all for sale.”
Somerset-based artist, Karen Edwards, who regularly exhibits her ceramic sculptures throughout southern England said: “I’m thrilled to show my work in the enchanting setting of Avebury Manor garden. It’s the perfect backdrop for my sculptures.”
The exhibition is on now and runs until Sunday, September 25.
